TheSafe v1.8
In my work I use of a lot of passwords to a lot of servers. First I was keeping them written down on papers but it takes a lot of time to first find the right one and then type it in by hand. Then I started to keep them in a text file. In that way I could just copy/paste them as soon as I needed them. But that wasn't very safe (non encrypted text files seldom are). My solution to this problem was TheSafe.
How does it work?
TheSafe keeps a list of passwords in an encrypted file. It copies the password to the clipboard by double clicking on the item in the list. Then deletes the password from the clipboard after one minute. It also locks down the application and requests a password after five minutes.
In this way you can always have your passwords near by and they wont hang around in the clipboard for long. And because the passwords isn't shown in the list (only the title) you don't risk anyone looking over your shoulder either ;-)
What's new?
v1.8
- Changed the units of the timers to be set in minutes rather than seconds.
- Fixed a bug in the timers (they didn't use the settings)
v1.7
- When locked the password dialog only shows when the user is trying to do something. It was annoying when it stole keyboard focus and it also caused some annoying alerts on various systems (like mac).
- Added the possibility to open the recent password list on application startup.
- Added the possibility to auto save changes.
- Added a settings dialog to turn on/off the above features and to change the timeouts.
